Christopher Simmonds Architects delivers a modern design with a rustic cabin exterior to a wilderness slope in Quebec, Canada. The sophisticated modern design interior is only matched by the expansive forest views to the north and south. The open floor plan is light and airy as natural light pours through floor to ceiling windows.
In the center of the living space is a large modern fireplace that is short to not obstruct the views. Even the glass stair railings allow you to constantly see the beautiful surroundings. It would seem the architect’s goal was to ensure the homeowners would be able see nature from every room. Even while you soak in the master bathroom tub you can enjoy the views of the distant peaks. The residence is intimate as a result of the home being nested between the natural landscapes, which are the main focal point. This modern design home is successful because it does not try to compete with nature, but it does complement it.
