The New Year is just about here. And even though The Ball hasn’t dropped yet, the 2013 Home Decorating Trends have arrived. There are some exciting new decorating trends for 2013. There’s something for everyone this year. Whether you like a bold interior design or something more subtle, one of these decorating trends will speak to you.

8 Decorating Trends for 2013

Let me know which trends you love and which trends you will ignore.2013 Home Decorating Trends

Sunburst Mirrors

If you don’t know what to hang a wall a safe bet is always a mirror. In 2013 you will see sunburst mirrors  popping up everywhere. I love these mirror because they remind me of Mid-Century Modern clocks.

American Vintage

If you are into antiques and classics furniture this decorating trend is for you. This interior design trend is about layering heirloom-style and classic furnishings to dress a room. I believe this trend comes from the rediscovery of well-made furniture and shopping at thrift store to save money.

2013 Color of the Year

Out with Tangerine Tango, in with Emerald Green. For 2013 the color of the year is Emerald Green. You can expect to see many home design stores carrying furnishing is this medium to deep green. I am on the fence on this Color of the Year.

What do you think of Emerald Green for your home? Love it or Pass? (Let me in the comment box below)

Moroccan Flare

Great interior design can have you thinking you are away in the world. In 2013 the place to imagine visiting is Morocco. In the coming year you may find yourself decorating your home with patterns and color found in Moroccan Tribal Rugs. These patterns and colors will bring new life to your home.

Not Your Grandmother’s Floral

This is not the comeback of those tired floral patterns at your grandmother’s house. Large oversized floral patterns will be making their way into design magazine in 2013. Reinterpretation of floral patterns is the result of the fabric being use in fashion.

Industrial Urban Style

I describe this trend as functional and rough around the edges. The styling of industrial and vintage furniture is mixed to create this Urban fusion. In this trend will also see the popularity of gray monochromatic color schemes.

Bold Colors & Patterns

Some decorating trends last more than one year. This trend is a carry over from fall 2012. I wrote about this trend in an earlier post, 2012 Fall Paint Color Trends for Your Home.

3D Comes to Your Home

Textures add a lot to room. This design trend uses wall tiles to add any some interesting textures to a room. Consider choosing one wall in your home to apply such a material if this trend fits your fancy.

Well, wall tiles are bad for biz...so not that ;) I would have to agree with you on industrial urban (some are also calling this warm industrial)...BUT New Hamshire's architecture really doesn't support this look. So in fitting with New England design, I would go with American Vintage and all that Thom Filicia goodness!
